Kind words from clients and colleagues (aka references)

From LinkedIn – an ex-colleague on my last long term contract

“I found Alex knowledgable across a wide range of areas, from C/C++ through to Linux and J2ME development. I was impressed by Alex’s ability to take over the “team lead” role for a group of C developers and Linux administrators at very little notice–and do a really good job. His is well organised and has the ability to “cut through” to what is important…thus moving his team forward. I am sure that Alex would be a valuable addition to any team out there.” April 22, 2009

Bob Brown , Director , Transentia Pty. Ltd.
worked directly with Alex at ENERGEX (via Sparq Solutions)

Some further kind words, from Transentia, which I copy below

Recalling the idea of “Standing on the back of Giants”, I guess that it is appropriate to mention some of the Giants that I have had the pleasure of associating with. In no particular order, then:

These people–and their associated companies–embody a tremendous amount of

experience, capability and ‘brainpower.’

Whilst contracting at TrySoft Corporation back in 2004, I designed and built an image processing engine for a new product PX3. The team leader at the time was Matthew Ryan. Here are his comments

Konica Minolta have been doing very elaborate testing in the past two weeks, and we
have been doing more here ourselves. And your ‘image processing engine’ is a little
piece of magic that brings smiles all-round.

That’s when I sing your praise.

My most treasured tribute is care of Mike Clarke, from my days at the University of Oxford and Sydney Unversity

Next is a reference I never got to use. It was provided as we faced the sale of our product and ourselves by Mincom to Paradigm Geophysical. As it was, the sale was made and we eventually relocated to new Paradigm offices.

I may well have used my Mining Technology reference to join PTM (Petroleum Technology, Mincom). Little did I know that it would lead to my becoming part of a sale / acquisition.
