Complexity? Where!

I was just trawling through some old project emails and found a neat little diagram that reminded me of what constitutes a good design tool.

It’s not one that offers certifications and value added complexity. It’s more like one that is easily acquired, at no cost and with little ramp up time to use effectively.

REALLY I hear you say. Yes, really. Value added simplicity is what I’m describing. I’ve mentioned the likes of Freemind before, and since then have used other mind mapper gems like XMind too, to equal advantage.

If it makes you see the big picture with little effort, if it embeds in your mind the relationships that others will rely on you to convey, then it is a tool worth its weight in gold.
